Wayne Benson is our dedicated Health & Safety Manager, bringing nearly a decade of expertise in the construction industry's health and safety field. His extensive background includes system administration, policy development, incident investigation, and risk management. Wayne's proactive strategies prioritise team health, safety, and wellbeing. He thrives in construction's complexity and high-risk environment, eager to contribute to Maycroft's safety journey. Wayne's passion for people and safety drives his commitment to enhancing our organisation's health and safety standards.
Wayne holds a Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety Management, registration with ProfNZSIM (NZ Institute of Safety Management), and membership on the Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) register. Outside of work, Football has been a huge part of Wayne’s life, playing at a high level in Auckland, then playing, coaching and being on the junior committee at Petone Football Club for over 17 years, as well as being involved in managing and coaching at Hutt Valley High School for seven years at the same time.
