The Property Group engaged Maycroft to deliver a vibrant new working space for their Palmerston North team. We reconfigured and refurbished an existing office space to create a modern, open plan working environment that maximises natural light and encourages collaboration. Meeting rooms offer privacy without feeling closed in, while abundant use of internal glass makes the most of the extensive views of Palmerston North city square.
The ceilings and floor had already been upgraded as part of an earlier base build contract undertaken by others, so we were responsible for erecting new walls (some with borrowed light) and installing glazed internal metal partitions to define separate office spaces. Our work also included installation of a new kitchen with oak veneer laminate cabinetry.
The refurbishment works were undertaken while other tenanted floors in the building remained occupied, so we had to plan all works to minimise noise and disruption. Adding further challenge, the initial programme was reduced by a week to accommodate the termination of The Property Group’s lease on their existing premises. As the initial programme was driven by the procurement of a critical long lead item, (aluminium partitioning), we had to restructure our construction schedule to meet the new completion date.
