Having outgrown our existing premises in Palmerston North, Maycroft purchased a new office space just a few doors down at 2-4 Roy Street. The new office encompasses workshops and office space on the ground floor and offices above on Level 1.
We undertook a major overhaul of the two floors to bring them up to seismic code and create a welcoming environment for our staff and customers. Our team gutted the internal spaces, undertook seismic strengthening and fit out works, as well as replacing external wall cladding and windows.
The work was undertaken to a tight programme to enable us to move into our new premises as fast as possible. Much of the work was undertaken in winter, so to prevent delays due to rain, we installed a special shrink wrap on the outside of the scaffolding which enabled us to continue work in all weather conditions.
Maycroft self-performed the structural work and internal linings, with the joinery and finishing packages let to specialist subcontractors. Maycroft worked with the structural designers to secure pre-approvals, which was important for progressing the works quickly and efficiently.
Creating our ‘new home’ was a source of great pride for the team, and this is reflected in the very high quality of workmanship delivered. The new office is a vibrant space that will provide a fitting home for our Central Region team for many years to come.
