For almost 25 years the H2O Xtream facility has been a recreational and iconic hotspot for the Upper Hutt Community and its visitors. In 2018 we were involved with the maintenance upgrade, but now requiring more expensive and ongoing maintenance, the aging facility is ready for a complete overhaul.
The upgrade will seethe state-of-the-art aquatic facility increase in approximately 49% more water space and 55% more floor space. New features of the facility will include:
Our contribution to this H2O Xtream Upgrade project began in the Early Contractor Involvement phase. We provided advice regarding buildability and methodology of the design as it developed to ensure the upgrade meets the community’s current and future needs.
Impacted by cost and supply chain pressures of the COVID-19 recovery, we also provided critical cost advice as the design underwent many changes to reach a project that can be most affordably delivered; something we appreciate as high importance to our client and the community.
With the Early Contractor Involvement phase now complete, our Operational team are now commencing the safe and quality physical delivery of the project.
The site is located on a busy and high profile intersection in Upper Hutt which we expect will attract a lot of public interest. Pedestrian and traffic management, as well as public access to the pool will be carefully controlled and the construction zone restricted from other public areas.
This significant investment in upgrading the facility will enhance the leisure attraction and cater to the changing needs of the community. Maycroft are elated to be working alongside Upper Hutt City Council and community again.
